Seriously, Someone Thought This Was A Good Idea?

This is a genuine film. It's not a spoof. It was the official selection for the Sundance Film Festival in 2004. And, yes, that is Gary Oldman walking around on his knees pretending to be a dwarf. When you've got Peter Dinklage in the film right next to him. Sometimes, the world is that little bit more insane than you thought it was...

Well how the hell am I gonna get THAT out of my head?!!
I would've bet money that that was a joke. Matthew McConaghey (sp?) has always sucked, but I never suspected Oldman of having suck tendencies. Yikes!

As soon as I saw the still shot of Matthew McSameyfilm, I knew this was going to be bad. "Oh, they were so different!" "Oh, he's so adorable but with commitment issues!" "Oh, I want my fucking money back because I've seen the same variation of this film at least 20 times and 12 of them starred Matthew McConaghey".

You know who he is? He's the Nic Cage of romantic comedies.

Pearl - I was just stunned at Gary Oldman walking around on his knees pretending to be a dwarf. I still can't get over the fact that someone thinks that's OK. Ben Stiller must have seen this when he wrote the Robert Downey Junior character in Tropic Thunder...

Anna - Nice comparison. I don't think I've ever seen a film with Matthew McBlandingford in it. *does quick IMDb search* Oh, he's in Tropic Thunder. How ironic... (and I didn't even notice - he's like the acting equivalent of wallpaper.)

And Gary Oldman's "role of a lifetime" comes in a film with Matthew McWosname ? Well, that's Gary Oldman off my list.

Talking of dwarves, favourite dwarf joke : woman falls in love with dwarf but needs advice. Friend of her mum has married a dwarf. "No advice, darlin', just a few words to the wise : when you're nose to nose, his toes are in, when you're toes to toes, his nose is in and when he's in, you've got no one to talk to.

Favourite dwarf film of late (and come on, we all have a favourite dwarf film since Don't Look Now) ? In Bruges.

And I can't resist tonight's word verif : conat - a barbarian with a very short attention span.

I think "A Time to Kill" got to Matthew's head - ANYONE could have pulled that role off and looked like a genius - it was the script you jackass - your leather tanned face had nothing to do with it!

What. The. Hell.

I'm totally having a nightmare about this tonight.

kapgaf - I'm just more surprised that his "role of a lifetime" involves him doing a Kenny Everett style Talouse LaTrec inpression (I half expect him to have his shoes on his knees...)

Rachel - Yeah, I've never seen anything (other than Tropic Thunder) with him in. And I don't really plan to either...

Miss Yvonne - I think if you watch that trailer before bedtime whilst eating cheese, the resulting nightmare will blow your head off.

I love that his name is Peter Dinklage. It's so...appropriate.

Yeah, it kind of fits somehow, doesn't it?
