Time Piece

In keeping with my recent trend of being fairly video-post-y over the weekend when everyone's busy off having lives and suchlike, here's a little oddity from way back in 1965. As well as being the man behind the Muppets, Jim Henson dabbled in the occasional piece of experimental film or TV. This particular effort, Time Piece, earned him an Oscar nomination. I'm not always a big fan of experimental film per se (just not my cup of tea, really) but there's something very appealing about this one with it's jazz-style rhythms and faintly ridiculous imagery. Give it a look-see and see what you think...

I saw this at the recent Jim Henson exhibit at the Smithsonian... very cool.

And 1965 wasn't THAT long ago. Geez. Plus, it was a very good year :)

See, this is the problem with living on another continent - you don't get to see cool stuff like that. Dagnabbit.
